Du-Lite’s Easy Black Plus has six compartments measuring 16″ x 38″ x 20″ that are constructed of 304 stainless steel, 12 gauge. All of the electrically heated compartments are insulated with 1″ fiberglass board and covered with (304)16 gauge stainless steel outer covering.

Du-Lite’s larger unit has one blower system and measures approximately 18″ X 39″ X 20″ to process rifle barrels and longer items. The complete unit measures approximately 52″ X 120″ X 82″ tall. Du-Lite’s small lot electrically heated black oxide systems can also be built to your custom specifications and chemical processes. Our complete systems include a  drip tray and chemicals.

Call it Parkerizing, Bluing, or Black Oxide, this is truly a turnkey blackening line for your firearm and metal finishing business.

Easy Black Plus Turnkey Systems for Mid Size Firearm Manufacturers

These Small Lot Electrically Heated Black Oxide Systems come complete with exhaust hood and blower, water lines, and drains factory installed. The electrical control panel completely wired and start-up chemicals are provided.

Two different 6-Compartment Tank Systems are available. All systems are constructed of 304 stainless steel, 12-gauge, and all of the electrically heated compartments are insulated with 1-inch fiberglass board and covered with 16-gauge stainless steel outer covering. The smaller system comes with 18’’ x 18’’ x 20’’ compartments. In the larger unit, each compartment measures 18’’ x 39’’ x 20’’ to process larger items.

Easy Black Plus 6 Compartment Process:

  1. Du-Lite’s #45 hot alkaline soak cleaner – electrically heated to 150º F.
  2. Water rinse.
  3. Du-Lite’s Steelkote hot black oxide process – electrically heated to 285º F.
  4. Du-Lite’s Steelkote hot black oxide process – electrically heated to 301º F.
  5. Water rinse.
  6. Du-Lite’s RG-55 rust preventative oil.

Easy Black Electrical Control Panel
Electrical Control Panel, shown closed and open, which is used to maintain the proper operating temperature of each electrically or gas heated processing compartments. The unit has red flashing alarm light set to activate 2 degrees above set operating temperature. Additional safety features include automatic shut-down of electric heaters in the overheating processing station if operating temperature exceeds 3 degrees above set operating temperature.
Easy Black Exhaust Hood
Large inline exhaust blower to remove water vapor and steam from heated processing compartments. Exhaust pipe at top of blower must be run to the outside of the building. Smaller Easy Black system with tanks 16"x16"x20" using a 12" dia. pipe, larger Easy Black system with 16"x38"x20" processing compartments requires a 16" dia. exhaust pipe.
Easy Black gas burners
This picture shows the underneath gas burner system with electric gas solenoid valve, Baso gas pilot safety unit. The upper left corner of the photo shows the exhaust flue and next to it is the automatic water solenoid valve system to replenish water that has left the black oxide tank as steam. This will ensure that no red work will be produced while using Du-Lite's Easy Black Plus System.
Easy Black water valves
Photo of two Water Solenoid Valves which automatically replenishes water that has left the processing tank as steam. This is very important because the water that is lost as steam from the processing tank is not replenished immediately the black oxide tank will overheat and produce red work which is unacceptable. These valves are electrically controlled by the temperature indicating controller located in the main control panel.

Du-Lite Easy Black Plus System

  • A complete turnkey black oxide system.
  • Safety and accuracy. Automatic temperature controls of all heated processing tanks. Each electrically heated compartment is protected by a high-temperature red flashing alarm light set to activate 2 degrees above set operating temperature and is located on the control panel. If the #45 Cleaner or the black oxide tank continues to over-heat by 3 degrees higher the electricity to the heaters will automatically shut off to that tank.

  • All stainless steel construction inside and out. Steel rinse tanks are prone to rusting, forming rust particles which can be deposited on your finished work.
  • The system can be adapted to run other in-house processes, i.e. stainless steel passivating, parts cleaning, aluminum chromating, zinc, iron, manganese phosphating, acid bright dipping or rust removal and oiling processes.
  • Manual or automatic waste treatment system available for pH adjustment of rinse water.
  • Factory laboratory and technical assistance available.
  • Systems can pay for themselves in 6 to 12 months.
